A beautiful, 60 years old stamp

New Year is the time to remember the memories we share. For this reason I
compiled a page on a beautiful stamp issued by the Oceania/Polynesia Post in
1953.

http://artonstamps.org/Gauguin/13-nafea.htm

I included a comparison between this stamp and another one, on the same
subject, issued in 2011.

A happy New Year 2014!

Correction: I included a comparison between this stamp and another one, on
the same
subject, issued in _2001_.

Note: but who cares, on this quasi-deserted newsgroup, with 5 - 10 postings
monthly? In the past there were until 100 times more.

BTW, a poster wrote on the French philatelic newsgroup ftp (much more active
than this one) that if there is nothing to read means that there is noting
to say...

Perhaps because many have deserted the constant flow of specious
issues. In addition, unless you go directly to the cave, it's very
hard to get new issues in the US.

New Issue service -=charges=- from the other postal administrations
are much more expensive than they had been. Everyone's busy wringing
the last pence from the collector.

Activity in specialized areas is very busy, dozen or so posts a day
just on the small group dedicated to filling in the remaining
information on the 1d LE of GB.

King George discussion area is focussed upon the shades and some of
the rising interest in the commonwealth.

And a happy New Year to you, and all other members of this group,
also.
